This is usually the phrase that is associated with the recent movie called 'Ship of Theseus'
You and I shall be clear on this one thing if not the rest : this is in no way intended to criticize the movie but to point out few features of the paradox associated with the it.
It is not clear as to when the Cell regeneration myth that all the cells in a person's body regenerate entirely in 7 years started spreading around but it has lead to People concluding they are a completely different person from what they were 7 years back from the point of reference.
Firstly, Research has shown that Neurons in the cerebral cortex are never replaced. There are no neurons added to your cerebral cortex after birth. Any cerebral cortex neurons that die are not replaced. So If it's the brain that is responsible for shaping up a person then such fact puts up a debatable question though the gradual evolution of a human being into a newer person can be attributed to the production of new neurons and thereby increasing the size of the brain.

Secondly, I've also read somewhere that certain bone cells are also not replaced and remains unchanged pretty much for an entire lifetime though there is increase in size similar to the brain.
(I couldn't find any links on the internet pointing to this fact though such revelations has been mentioned in certain Books on Evolutionary Biology)
And Finally, There is the theoretical Physics side to it being human beings are nothing but a waveform with energy transferred through each cell in the form of wave. In this case it's pretty much the same energy waveform passing through a timeline using cells as a medium. The feeling of being present in a past even is attributed to such a concept.
